Biology happens at the molecular level. The genetic code of DNA is used to form RNA, which can then be expressed into proteins. These three components- in their myriad conformations- are what make life go, and in many cases, minute changes in structure, interaction or even concentration of a given entity can cause disease through a complex cascade of events. In our lab, we study these components and their interactions at the single-molecule level by using the toolbox provided by nanotechnology.
